Glass Escalator
Performance Artivism
October 02, 2026

This piece was written in response to how the trump Administration treats women in the workplace. The pattern is to quickly elevate a woman to a high position of power, then abruptly kick the pedestal out from under her, making her a scapegoat for their past, present, and future crimes.

This is known as the glass escalator, an evolution from the glass ceiling (keeping women from senior management and executive ranks) and the glass elevator (when men experience rapid career advancement in female-dominated fields). It stems from male insecurity expressed as objectification of his perceived threat (women).

Although I do not agree with women like Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi, Karoline Leavitt, or Natalie Harp, I know they are still victims trapped within their own party. This was performed at Texas Tech University, where many students come from conservative households and may recognize the theme of this work.

Note: This was made before Katie Zacharia was hired and fired within 5 days.

This artivism was a part of Fall of Freedom, a nationwide political art movement (Oct 2-4, 2026). Go to falloffreedom.com to learn more.
